Connecting through Dhamma in Indonesia

Connecting through Dhamma in Indonesia

During the study tour to Borobudur and Yogyakarta, the Nalanda group visited Vihara Mendut, Vihara Dhamma Sundara, Vihara Bodhivamsa, and ancient Buddhist candi in the region.

These visits offered opportunities to appreciate the region’s Buddhist heritage and connect with those who continue to nurture the Dhamma today.  We are grateful to the local Sangha members, Buddhist leaders, and communities for their warm hospitality, which made the journey especially meaningful and strengthened friendships through our shared faith in the Buddha’s teachings.

Nalanda Heritage Team members Bro. Yeo Disheng, Dr. Song Wai Leng, and Sis. Mary Ooi shared the significance of Candi Sari, Candi Sewu, and Candi Plaosan, enriching participants’ understanding and appreciation of these heritage sites.

Beyond appreciating ancient monuments, the journey encouraged us to reflect on our own contributions to Buddhist community life.  May the friendships formed through these visits continue to grow, and may we support one another in cultivating wisdom, compassion, and harmony.
