On Sunday 21 June, parents gathered at Nalanda Centre for a forum in conjunction with Parents’ Day celebrations titled “The Essential Parenting Skill in a Changing World.” Sis Livin Leow moderated the forum, with panellists Bro. Tan Say Kee, Sis. Foo Ai Li, Bro. Vincent Lim and Sis. Poh Chin Hui. The session offered a space for learning, reflection, and shared experiences on parenting in today’s fast-changing conditions.
Panellists highlighted adaptability as a key quality for parents today. As the world continues to evolve, parents are called to respond wisely and guide their children with greater understanding and care. Through their sharing, participants were encouraged to reflect on how they can better support their children’s growth by nurturing resilience, empathy, mindfulness and clarity in the face of change.

At the same time, the forum emphasised the importance of staying grounded in wholesome values while embracing continuous learning. As parents grow alongside their children, they can cultivate both steadiness and flexibility in their approach. May the insights shared inspire more parents to develop these essential qualities, supporting the wholesome development of the next generation.
