It is with much joy and profound gratitude that I write this message on the happy occasion of Nalanda Institute's 16th Anniversary. This remarkable milestone symbolizes many years of unwavering dedication to the study, practice, and dissemination of the Buddha’s sublime teachings. The first few months of this year witnessed many Buddhist organisations opening up for in-person activities. With the easing of restrictions, Buddhists have been able to meet face-to-face, keeping the fervour of kalyana mitta burning bright in our community. I do hope that we will soon close the unfortunate chapter of the Covid-19 pandemic with a deep measure of optimism.

Read moreFrom 12 – 13 November, Nalanda Youth Centre hosted 4 leaders from Buddhist Fellowship Youth Singapore for two days of leadership exchange. It was the maiden visit for the Singaporean youth leaders, and they were brought on an extensive building tour of Nalanda Centre to learn more about Buddhist history, culture and values that were embedded in its architecture and design.

Whilst interiors have started to be fitted-in over the past weeks, members and volunteers have also been carrying out daily chanting there, as well as prepare the premise to welcome guests for its Officiating Ceremony on Sunday, 11 December 2022.

The meeting at NEO Centre in SP was well attended by members, who discussed the Society’s development in 2019 and the plans for the coming year. The meeting was joined by Nalanda President Sis. Evelyn Chow, and Honorary Secretary Sis. Santi Cheang.
