Enhancing harmony in the community with Ven. Ajahn Jayasaro

Nalanda leaders are deeply grateful to Ajahn Jayasaro for his compassion in travelling on a short visit to be the keynote speaker at WACANA 2025.

On Friday 19 December, Nalanda Centre was honoured to host Ven. Ajahn Jayasaro and Ajahn Tul during their visit to Malaysia for WACANA 2025. The Nalanda management and education team were privileged to associate with them and engage in meaningful discussions, learning from Ajahn Jayasaro’s wisdom.

Ajahn Jayasaro shared reflections on cultivating harmony in the community through the practice of the Dhamma. While we all aspire to live happy, contented, and peaceful lives, he reminded us that greed, anger, and delusion often obstruct this aspiration.

The WACANA programme team engaged in a briefing and discussion with Ajahn.

In his evening teaching, Ajahn emphasised the importance of committing to the Five Precepts, which serve as a foundation for restraint and mindfulness in our actions, thoughts, and speech. When a community is aligned in this training, harmony, peace, and happiness naturally arise. He further encouraged the strengthening of mindfulness through meditation and reflection on mental hindrances, enabling us to skilfully guide our conduct in daily life.

With deep gratitude, we thank Ven. Ajahn Jayasaro for his inspiring teachings and encouragement in nurturing a harmonious Dhamma community. May Ajahn be blessed with good health, and may his noble endeavours continue to flourish.  Sādhu anumodanā.
