Preparing for Wesak Day with fervour

As Malaysian Buddhists look forward to celebrating Wesak ‘Buddha Day’ this weekend, Nalandians are putting the finishing touches to our preparations to welcome this joyous day.  The growing community of members, teachers, parents and students has been working together happily and harmoniously over the past two months in cleaning the Centre and putting up decorations.

More importantly, Nalandians have been diligent in learning the Dhamma so as to observe this sacred occasion meaningfully and spiritually.  Wesak Day is not about getting busy ‘doing things’; it is about understanding the significance of Buddha’s Enlightenment, and striving to realize the Dhamma.  Hence, everything that we do must be directed towards that goal in mind.

Nalanda Centre will be observing Wesak ‘Buddha Day’ over 3 days starting Friday, 1 May till Sunday, 3 May (the Full-moon day).   Many educational programmes have been lined up for devotees to learn and practise the Dhamma.

We look forward to welcoming everyone from near and far to Nalanda Centre for Wesak this weekend!  As this year’s ‘Buddha Day’ theme suggests, let us all come together as “Good Practitioners and Good Friends” in the Dhamma. Sadhu!

Joint effort - working together in unity and spirituality. Happy Wesak!
