Reflecting on a meaningful life with Ven. Paññasami

Reflecting on a meaningful life with Ven. Paññasami

We extend our thanks to Ven. Paññasami and all the devotees for joining this Buddha Day Observance programme at NEO Centre K.L.

On Thursday 15 May, Nalanda members and devotees gathered for the Mandarin Dhamma talk by Ven. Paññasami at Nalanda Education & Outreach Centre in Happy Garden. The session which started with guided meditation, and a peaceful sitting to calm the mind before reflecting on the Dhamma.

Ven. Paññasami shared that a meaningful life begins with the ability to discern right from wrong and live fully in the present moment. This enables us to offer kindness to others and to see the realities of life. Understanding karma and knowing that our actions may bear fruit immediately or in the future, also helps us to practise kindness towards all beings.

Understanding kamma gives us a better grasp of the need to cultivate wholesome habits, do good and purify our mind.

Sending off Ven. Paññasami with much gratitude.

Cultivating sīla (morality), samādhi (concentration), and paññā (wisdom) in our daily lives requires us to have courage, perseverance and concentration.  Ven. Paññasami reminded us that wisdom arises through listening to Dhamma, contemplating the truths, and anchoring ourselves in meditation practice.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to Ven. Paññasami for his guidance and wish him a long life, good health, and success in his noble endeavours.  Sadhu anumodana.
