Pertaining to Nalanda’s annual “Family Fun Fair” or formerly known as “Pesta Nalanda”.
During the recent Nalanda ‘Family Fun Fair’, Nalandian youths embarked on a strong effort to reach out to the community of young Buddhists. A ‘Youth Centre Canopy’ was set up comprising two sections: one section for Buddhist Societies from various universities to establish their stalls, and another section housing an exhibition themed “The Silver Lining”, which aimed to promote kindness.

Since this morning, Nalanda members have been arriving at Sri Serdang from Kedah, Johor and Kuala Lumpur branches to help out. Briefing for the Nalanda Dhamma School (NDS) students and youths were conducted by NDS facilitators and Youth Leaders respectively in the morning, whilst the ‘Family Fun Fair’ (FFF) organising chairperson, Sis. Evelyn briefed the adult volunteers in the afternoon session.

There will be more than 120 stalls offering a wide variety of food, beverages, household items, clothes, handicraft and merchandise for sale. The ‘Fun Fair’ aims to raise funds to finance many community-based educational programmes run by Nalanda Institute, Dhamma School, Free School, the Library, and Youth Centre. It is the only fund-raising event for Nalanda Sri Serdang this year.

The ‘Family Fun Fair’ is held in aid of our ‘Education & Development Fund’. Proceeds from the Fair will be channelled to support educational programmes of Nalanda Free School, Nalanda Institute, Dharma School, Library and Youth Centre.
