Gimhāna New-moon Uposatha Service

We warmly invite you to join the Gimhāna Uposatha Service at Nalanda Centre next Monday in observance of the New-moon day of the month of Jeṭṭha. The service will begin with offerings to the Three Jewels, chanting, and meditation, followed by a Dhamma talk by Sis. Nandinī Tan. Let us spend a wholesome and uplifting evening in the company of spiritual friends, cultivating the path through practice, reflection, and learning the Dhamma on this meaningful Uposatha observance day.

Devotion and Dhamma Learning on Buddha Day

On the auspicious morning of Sunday 31 May, the community of devotees, youths, Dhamma school facilitators, and students gathered to pay homage to the Buddha.  Buddha Day celebrations commenced at 7am with devotees offering alms to venerable Sangha members, followed by a solemn Buddha Pūja which united everyone in the spirit of reverence and gratitude for the great Teacher.

We invite you and your loved ones to join Buddha Day Observance programmes hosted by Nalanda K.L. Branch this Saturday, 6 June as follows : Offer alms to venerable Sangha members at the monthly ‘Pindacāra’ at O.U.G. and Happy Garden. Wesak Eve Procession at Serdang Buddhist Association

On Saturday 30 May, the eve of Wesak Day, Nalanda leaders and devotees joined the Wesak procession organised by Serdang Buddhist Association to usher in this most auspicious occasion commemorating the Buddha’s Enlightenment, walking mindfully together in unity and harmony. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Serdang Buddhist Association for warmly extending this outreach opportunity to the Serdang community and for fostering a meaningful observance of Wesak Eve.

Buddha Day Eve Service at Nalanda Centre

On 30 May, devotees gathered at the Nalanda Centre to celebrate Buddha Day Eve with Buddha Puja, meditation, reflection and Dhamma learning.  The atmosphere was filled with devotion and mindfulness as participants engaged in practices that honour the life and teachings of the Buddha. The Dhamma talk, delivered by Sis. Paruadi, focused on the extraordinary life journey of the Buddha. She emphasized that the Buddha is a remarkable being who arises in the world for the benefit and happiness of many.

All ready for Heritage Procession

We warmly await your arrival to join us for the Heritage Procession taking place this evening at 7pm at Nalanda Centre.  This is a a unique cultural experience where the Buddharupam is conveyed on a wooden sedan to the harmonious beat of drums and gongs.  Accompanying the heritage procession are beautifully handcrafted traditional paraphernalias such as parasols and blessings fans, and also devotees carrying lighted up lotus candle holders walking mindfully and peacefully.

Vesakhā New moon Uposatha observance

Today is the New-moon day of the holy Vesakhā Month.  In just a fortnight, Buddhists in Malaysia will celebrate Wesak or Buddha Day, the most important day in the Buddhist calendar.  We warmly invite all devotees and practitioners to observe the Vesākha New Moon Uposatha with faith and devotion. This Uposatha observance commemorates the period leading up to the Blessed One’s Enlightenment, when the Bodhisatta steadfastly exerted himself in the earnest pursuit of liberation for the welfare of all beings.
