Volunteers gear-up for ‘Buddha Day’

On Sunday 27 April, Nalanda Volunteer Centre hosted and welcomed over 100 volunteers to gear up for this year’s ‘Buddha Day’ B.E. 2569 Observance.  Both new and regular volunteers learned about the host of programmes and exhibitions planned from 10 to 18 May and gathered with their team leads to deepen their understanding of their roles.

Vesakha Month starts today

Today is the New-moon day of the holy Vesakhā Month. On these Uposatha (observance) days, the laity devote themselves to a day of restraint, meditation and cultivation of mindfulness. Some may observe the Eight Precepts and listen to or read Dhamma teachings attentively.

This meaningful tradition brings together devotees and the community to cultivate generosity and share blessings.  We rejoice in the kind-hearted support of devotees, who make their offerings with joy and sincerity.

Young Working Adults Forum

In conjunction with Buddha Day B.E. 2568, Nalanda Youth Centre is hosting a special forum for young working adults on Thursday 23 May at Nalanda Centre.  The forum which starts at 8pm is for youths of ages 23 to 35, to learn from a panel of seasoned corporate and professionals on the role that we play to foster harmony at work and in our lives.
