The Theravada Buddhist Council of Malaysia (TBCM) had its 2nd Annual General Meeting on Saturday, 20 July 2013, at the Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple, Sentul, Kuala Lumpur. Over the weekend, Nalanda Centre received three official delegations from local Buddhist Societies in Selangor – the Tiratana Buddhist Society Klang, Shah Alam Buddhist Society, and Putra Heights Buddhist Society. The purpose of these visits was to understand Nalanda’s set-up, especially our educational philosophy and programmes. The visitors were very keen to learn about Nalanda’s success in attracting and retaining the participation of Buddhist youths.Read more
Nalanda Buddhist Society Johor Bahru Branch achieved an important milestone on Sunday, 14 April. The inaugural meeting of the Pro-tem Committee was held under the chairmanship of Bro. Yap Chong Huat. On Sunday, 7 April, Nalanda leaders had a plenary session to discuss Nalanda Macro 2014-2015. Nalanda Macro is an important document published annually which outlines the programmes and objectives of all divisions and departments for the ensuing period. This plenary session was facilitated by Honorary Secretary Sis. Buddhini, and attended by the President, Deputy President, Treasurer, Members of the Board, Divisional Directors, and Heads of Departments.

Nalanda Buddhist Society Malaysia’s 10th Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on Sunday, 24 March. President Mr. Lee Kong Foo, convened the meeting with the President’s Address, summarising the Society’s highlights and achievements in the past year. Nalanda Founder Bro. H S Tan, offered inspiring advice and shed positive new light on the direction and future of Nalanda, while reminding all members to uphold the Nalandian culture and spirit. Read more
Nalanda was honoured to play host to the final meeting of the Theravada Council’s Constitutional Drafting Committee on Saturday, 24 March 2012. Attending the meeting were Ven. Sri Saranankara Nayaka Thero, Ven. Aggacitta Maha Thero, and Ven. Dhammavuddho Maha Thero, together with Chairmen of the Pro-tem and Constitutional Drafting Committees, their secretaries and committee members.
The 9th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Nalanda Buddhist Society Malaysia was held on 11 March, at the Srivijaya Hall, Nalanda Centre. The highlight of the AGM was the passing of two important resolutions - to allow the setting up of branches, and the acquisition of potential properties for future expansion.Read more
