Talk by Sayadaw Nyanapurnik

On Wednesday 21 June, Nalanda Centre once again welcomed the return of Ven. Sayadaw Nyanapurnik Mahāthera from Nepal, accompanied by Ven. Gavesi, Maechi Chini and Ven. Sayalay Vimalanani.  Nalandians took the opportunity to invite Sayadaw Nyanapurnik to give a Dhamma talk to the evening crowd.

Kelantan Dhammaduta tour 2017

Nalanda founder will be returning to his home-state of Kelantan for a 4-day Dhammaduta tour from 3 to 6 June 2017.  80 Dhamma School students from Serdang and Johor Bahru will participate in the tour, and receive teachings at well-known Buddhist landmarks such as Wat Machimaram, Wat Photivihan, and Wat Mai Suwankhiri.

Gratitude and appreciation

Nalanda Centre recently hosted the Most Venerable T. Seelananda Mahathera on his Dhammaduta tour of Malaysia from 19 to 25 March.  During his stay, Ven. Seelananda gave teachings at Nalanda Centre, NEO Centre Kuala Lumpur, the Buddhist Gem Fellowship (BGF) Centre, and Bandar Utama Buddhist Society (BUBS).

Dhamma talk in Kelzar, Maharashtra

On Sunday 12 February, Bro. Tan received a very warm welcome when he visited Dhammabhumi monastery located in Kelzar, 52km south of Nagpur.  The village of Kelzar has a population of 1500 people, with a significant proportion of Buddhists.

Remarkable Dhammaduta tour of India

Nalanda founder Bro. Tan was recently invited to go on a ‘Dhammaduta’ (Dhamma-teaching) tour of India from 3 to 13 February 2017.  He was the guest-of-honour and keynote speaker at the ‘Mahakarunā Diwas’ held in Delhi, Bombay and Nagpur, which were a series of lectures on Buddhist teachings organised by the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre.

Keynote speaker in Delhi Diwas

On 4 February, Bro. Tan attended the national-level “Mahakaruna Diwas” at the Nehru Memorial Library in Delhi as the keynote speaker.  The event was organised by Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre of Ladakh under the able leadership of Venerable Sanghasena Mahathera.  It was launched by His Excellency Ram Nath Kovind, the Governor of Bihar.
