A morning of alms, mindfulness, and merit

A morning of alms, mindfulness, and merit

On Saturday 7 February 2026, Nalanda KL Branch members and volunteers hosted the monthly Pindacāra at the OUG and Happy Garden morning markets.  The bustling  markets were filled with festive cheer as the community prepared to welcome the Chinese New Year.

Many marketgoers and stall operators came ready to offer alms to the Sangha members.  It was an inspiring sight as they made offerings to Ven. Dhamma Gavesi and Ven. Samitha from Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple Sentul, which also filled our hearts with much joy.

We thank venerable sirs for supporting the pindacara programme for the benefit of the community.

Volunteers to engage the community and share news of Dhamma programmes.

During the ovāda before the lunch dāna at Nalanda KL Centre, Ven. Samitha reminded us of the rare fortune of human birth, with a mind capable of development.  He encouraged us to make right effort to do good, avoid unwholesome actions, and purify the mind.  Ven. Samitha also advised maintaining a pure and mindful state before, during, and after giving.

We rejoice in everyone’s participation.  May these merits bring wisdom, compassion, and happiness to all.  Sādhu!
