Participants were then given a “Personal Motivation Questionnaire” (PMQ) to understand what motivates them. The three key areas were – need for Achievement, Affiliation and Power. This helped participants to gain more insight into themselves, understanding what drives them to serve and to lead.

At Nalanda, we expressed our appreciation and gratitude to all teachers through two types of Puja (offerings), that is Patipatti Puja where we performed wholesome deeds – dana, meditation and chanting to honour our teachers, and Amisa Puja which is giving our teachers presents. Nalandians also shared about how their lives were transformed by inspiring teachers.

Read morePindacara (almsround) on Wesak Dawn - Fulfilling our duty as lay devotees by supporting Sangha members. Wesak at Nalanda was observed with a packed but meaningful programme from 4 to 6 May. This year saw a record turnout of more than 2,000 visitors over the weekend. Everyone came together with strong devotional spirit and added meaning to our celebration. The activities and events steered all of us towards the cultivation of loving-kindness, generosity and much peace.

It is dwelling in the present, letting go of the past and not worrying about a future that has not materialised.
