The practice of mindfulness continues onward

After nearly two months of insightful learning, the Mahāsatipaṭṭhāna Sutta sharing sessions concluded last Thursday at Nalanda Education & Outreach Centre, Kuala Lumpur.  The sessions led by Sis. Nandini Tan, a member of Nalanda Dhammaduta College, were well received and deeply appreciated by participants.

Families experience the joy of Dhamma at stay-in programme

From 27 to 29 June, over 80 participants and volunteers from Nalanda Dhamma Schools in Serdang, Kuala Lumpur, and Johor Bahru came together at Wisdom Park for a Family Stay-in Programme. Themed “Joy of Dhamma”, this meaningful gathering allowed families from different regions to connect through shared learning, reflection, and wholesome fun in a peaceful setting.

Young working adults explore how to deal with failure and rejection

On Tuesday 17 June, the Young Working Adults group continued their monthly gathering to learn about ‘Dealing with Failure and Rejection’ from Sis. Foo Ai Li at Nalanda Education & Outreach Centre in Happy Garden. The session led the youths to better understand the fear of failure and overcoming them with practical steps.

Joy of giving at Pindacāra

On Saturday 7 June, Nalanda KL Branch members and volunteers hosted the monthly Pindacāra at the OUG and Happy Garden morning markets.  Led by Venerable Pariyano, the alms-round offered laypeople a precious opportunity to cultivate generosity (dāna) and to give to those worthy of support.

Teenagers explore Buddhists heritage in Bujang Valley

From 6 to 8 June, 39 facilitators and students from Nalanda Teenage Dhamma School embarked on an enriching study tour to Bujang Valley in Kedah - a historically significant site often regarded as the cradle of early Buddhism in Malaysia. Led by Nalanda Youth Leader Bro. Yeo Disheng and his dedicated team, participants explored ancient archaeological remains and visited the Bujang Valley Archaeological Museum, home to artefacts dating as far back as the 2nd century CE.

Mandarin Dhamma talk by Ven. Jutipañño Mahāthero

We warmly invite you and your family to join the coming Thursday group meditation session at NEO Centre, Kuala Lumpur.  The session begins at 8pm with offerings, chanting and meditation, followed by a Dhamma talk.  We are honoured to have Venerable Jutipañño Mahāthero, the abbot of Dhamma Light Meditation Centre to deliver a Mandarin Dhamma talk to the community.

‘Peace Walk’ in serenity and harmony

On the evening of Saturday 17 May, members and devotees of Nalanda Kuala Lumpur Branch gathered in good spirits and camaraderie for a ‘Peace Walk’ around Happy Garden to commemorate Buddha Day.  The walk was led by Ven. Siriwimala and Ven. Ratanasiri from Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple, Sentul.   Prior to this, light refreshments were served to the local community, with devotees generously offering food.

On Thursday 15 May, Nalanda members and devotees gathered for the Mandarin Dhamma talk by Ven. Paññasami at Nalanda Education & Outreach Centre in Happy Garden. The session which started with guided meditation, and a peaceful sitting to calm the mind before reflecting on the Dhamma.
