This annual tradition is hosted by Nalanda Dhamma School and is an opportunity for us to express our appreciation to our parents, teachers and elders for their support and care.

Read moreOn Sunday 2 February, Nalandians welcomed a group of 15 Sangha members to Nalanda Centre to learn about Buddhist educational efforts in Malaysia. 12 of the young monks are currently undertaking higher studies in subjects including Pali, Buddhist philosophy and psychology in Sri Lanka. They were invited to Malaysia on a study tour courtesy of Venerable Sri Saranankara Nayaka Thero of Sentul Temple.

Most of them had travelled back to Malaysia for their semester breaks and holidays in conjunction with the Lunar New Year. Nalandians joyfully welcomed them back to their spiritual home and exchanged the latest news.

Read moreOn Sunday 19 January, Datuk Charlie Chia delivered a Dhamma talk during the Sunday Morning Service at Nalanda Centre. He related that many people are unhappy because they become attached to what they like and suffer disappointment when undesirable changes happen. To overcome this, we must recollect what the Buddha taught; that all conditioned phenomena is subject to change. We should therefore learn to accept change by reflecting on this natural and inevitable process.
