Bro. Charlie Teng (of Nalanda Management Committee) led a team of 10 Nalandians to represent the Society at the function to show our fervent support towards the development of Buddha-Sasana and local monastic facilities. The ceremony saw a turnout of 1,000 devotees, mostly coming by the busloads from Perak, Penang, Kedah, Perlis, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor; while others came from as far as Johor, the East Coast and even East Malaysia.

Read more1 May is designated ‘Nalanda Day’; it marks the 9th anniversary of Nalanda’s founding. On this day, Nalandians congregated for morning devotion at the Shrine Hall, before gathering in the Srivijaya Hall, where important Society events are usually held.
Among the many significant ‘news’ for the day were the launchings of Nalanda’s revised website, our new uniform, our first vehicle – a reconditioned, used-van generously donated by Mr. Chan Fong, and “Nalanda-Macro” – an important document outlining Nalanda’s Transformation Programme and our organizational goals for the next one year.
The 9th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Nalanda Buddhist Society Malaysia was held on 11 March, at the Srivijaya Hall, Nalanda Centre. The highlight of the AGM was the passing of two important resolutions - to allow the setting up of branches, and the acquisition of potential properties for future expansion.
