Keenly cultivating generosity at Pindacāra

Every first Saturday of the month, the communities at the OUG and Happy Garden markets keep a keen lookout for the sight of saffron-coloured robes.  Just so, on Saturday 3 August, stall vendors and market-goers came together to give freely and joyfully to members of the Sangha during the monthly Pindacāra (monks on alms-round) programme.

Friends from across Malaysia arrive for Family Fun Fair

This afternoon, we joyfully welcomed Nalanda members and volunteers who started their journey from our Johor Bahru, Sungai Petani and Kelantan branches early this morning.  Energetic and ready to serve, we are truly warmed by their earnest efforts to travel hundreds of kilometres in order to support the Family Fun Fair.

Peace Walk and Dhamma Talk by Ach. S. Vijaya

Come and join the Buddha Day ‘Peace Walk’ this Saturday 25 May, at Nalanda Education and Outreach Centre in Happy Garden.  The programme features a Dhamma talk by Achariya S. Vijaya at 6.30pm, followed by the serene ‘Peace Walk’ around the housing community at 7.30pm.  Light refreshments will be served from 6pm.  We look forward to welcome you at NEO Centre, Happy Garden.

Joyful giving during Pindacāra

Last Saturday 4 May, the community at the O.U.G. and Happy Garden markets partook in the meritorious deed of giving in the monthly Pindacāra (monks on alms-round) programme.   Often on the look-out on the morning of the first Saturday of the month, market-goers and stall vendors prepared their offerings generously, with the sincere intention of doing good.

Completion of Sutta Study in Mandarin

On Saturday 27 April, over 100 participants and volunteers of the Sigalovada Sutta (Digha Nikaya 31) Study Course in Mandarin completed their final session at all three Nalanda Branches in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Sungai Petani.

Sutta Study Course commenced at all Nalanda Branches

Last Saturday 16 March, over 100 participants, facilitators and volunteers commenced the first session of the Sigalovada Sutta’ (Digha Nikaya 31) Study Course in Mandarin.  Held concurrently across all three Nalanda Branches in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Sungai Petani, this course is organised by Nalanda Institute Malaysia and provides an insight into the Buddha’s teachings about the laity’s duties and moral conduct.

Newly launched Family Dhamma School in JB

On Saturday 16 March, over 20 parents and children embarked on their Dhamma learning together at Family Dhamma School, held at NEO JB in Taman Johor Jaya.  This weekly programme is newly launched to serve as a nurturing platform for families to foster spiritual growth and achieve domestic bliss.

Family Dhamma School Johor Bahru preparations underway

In the last two months, Nalanda Dhamma School facilitators and volunteers have been joyfully preparing for launch of Family Dhamma School in Johor Bahru.  Led by School Director Sis. See Hui Shien and Chief Facilitator Sis. Lau Wei Nee, facilitators in JB had undergone training to conduct the classes and guide students in their Dhamma learning.
