Dhamma teaching in Mandarin by Ven. Prof. K.L. Dhammajoti

We invite you to join us and learn from Ven. Prof. K.L. Dhammajoti at Nalanda Education and Outreach Centre in Happy Garden this coming Thursday 20 February.  Ven. Prof. K.L. Dhammajoti graduated from the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka with a doctorate in philosophy.  His teaching career started in 1982 as a senior lecturer with the university and became a professor 10 years later.

Learning about gratitude on first day of Dhamma School

The new school year for Nalanda Dhamma School in Sri Serdang and Family Dhamma School at NEO Centre KL started last Sunday 9 February. It was the perfect opportunity for students to enhance their understanding of gratitude amid the Lunar New Year celebrations, and express their thanks to their loved ones, especially their parents.

Come learn at ‘Happy Young Adults’ programme

We invite you to come and join the ‘Happy Young Adults’ Programme, organised by Nalanda Youth Centre for young adults to learn how to thrive and overcome stress at work and in life, and to excel in well-being.  This programme which runs on Tuesdays from 4 March for three months,  is a platform for young working adults to equip themselves with principles and ways to handle difficulties in life.

Visit to Buddhadasa Indapañño Archives, Thailand

Last December, 24 members of Nalanda Johor Bahru Branch embarked on a study tour of Bangkok and Ayutthaya.  One of the most enriching experience was a visit on 12 December to Buddhadasa Indapañño Archives (BIA) in Bangkok, a pioneering establishment that preserves and propagates the late Venerable Buddhadasa Bhikkhu’s works and teachings.

First pindacara in 2025 led by Ven. Saranankara

On Saturday 4 January, Nalanda members and devotees were honoured to have Venerable B. Saranankara Thero, our Spiritual Advisor lead the Society’s first pindacāra (monks on alms-round) in the new year at the O.U.G. and Happy Garden markets. Many vendors and market-goers accustomed to this endearing tradition, gathered happily to offer food and requisites together with their well-wishes.

Enriching tour of Thailand for Nalanda Johor Bahru Branch members

From 11 – 16 December, 24 members of Nalanda Johor Bahru Branch embarked on a study tour of Thailand.  Led by Sis. Nandinī Tan and Bro. David Yap, the entourage strengthened their faith and understanding of Buddhist history by immersing themselves in the rich Buddhist monuments and sites of Bangkok and Ayutthaya.

Families connect with the Dhamma at Family Camp in Johor

Over the weekend from 21 to 23 December, over 50 participants and volunteers came together at Dhamma Light Meditation Center in Pontian, Johor for the ‘Dhamma-Living Camp for Families’. Themed “感恩随我行 Gratitude is My Attitude”, the camp provided parents and children with a valuable opportunity to strengthen their family bonds while deepening their understanding of the Dhamma.

Community gathers for Pindacara

On Saturday 7 December, the community around the Happy Garden and O.U.G. markets joined the monthly Pindacāra programme, a welcomed opportunity for many.  Hosted by members and volunteers of Nalanda Kuala Lumpur branch, volunteers continued to engage more market-goers’ whose interest were piqued by the sight of so many people presenting food and requisites to the monks.
