Giving with generosity and humility

We invite you to join the “Mass Food Offering” for the community on Buddha Day, 19 May, from 5.30pm to 7.00pm at Nalanda Centre, Sri Serdang.  Every year, members and devotees work together to cook and prepare food in the spirit of loving-kindness and generosity.  Having prepared the meals with mettā, they also volunteer to personally offer it to the public with respect and humility to truly experience the joy of giving.

Sutta Study on Buddha Day

The Buddha’s teaching was passed down in the form of discourses and sermons (Sutta).  Before passing away, the Buddha reminded His disciples that, “the Dhamma and Vinaya I have set forth and laid down for you shall be your teacher after I am gone…”  Thus, He enshrined the Dhamma-Vinaya as the guiding principle in one’s conduct and practice towards liberation.

United Nations ‘Day of Vesak’

The United Nations (UN) Day of Vesak kicked off this week in Vietnam with the participation of 1,650 international delegates from over 100 countries.  The opening ceremony in Ha Nam province also brought together 20,000 Vietnamese Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns and followers.

Pindacāra on Eve of Buddha Day

Join us to offer alms to monks at the Jalan Besar market and Pasar Rakyat in Seri Kembangan this Saturday morning, the eve of Buddha Day.  The programme begins at 7.30am with chanting at Nalanda Centre, followed by alms-round at the two nearby markets from 8.30am.
