Nalanda organised our ninth monthly Pindacāra Programme on Saturday, 2 February, at the morning market in Taman O.U.G.  Many families took the opportunity to perform meritorious offerings before the upcoming Chinese New Year.

The first session of the General Buddhist Studies in Mandarin course was conducted on 13 January.  Organised by Nalanda Institute Malaysia’s Department of Buddhist & Pali Studies, this course has received positive responses and the first session was attended by 50 participants.

Service Sunday for NS Trainees

Together we learn Dhamma! On 13 January, Nalanda Youth Centre (NYC) conducted its first Service Sunday for National Service (NS) trainees in year 2013 at Nalanda Centre. A total of 108 trainees from Semenyih NS Camp spent their Sunday meaningfully by performing wholesome deeds and learning Buddhist values through fun and dynamic activities arranged by 11 youths from NYC.

Nalanda Youth Library is now Open!

1 January 2013 marks the birth of Nalanda Youth Library.  This new addition to our expanding Pustaka Nalanda caters to the learning needs and reading interest of youths and young adults.  We were honoured to have the presence of Venerable Sing Kan and Nalanda’s founder, Bro. H S Tan at the simple yet meaningful launching ceremony on 6 January 2013.

Dhamma School Teachers Training Programme

On 5 & 6 January 2013, Nalanda Institute Malaysia (NIM) conducted a two-day teacher's training programme at Uttama Bodhi Vihara in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya. The 35 existing and aspiring Dhamma School teachers who participated in the weekend programme gained much knowledge and inspiration to further the noble cause of Buddhist education.
