Nalanda Kuala Lumpur Branch held their 12th Annual General Meeting (A.G.M.) on Saturday 8 March at the NEO Centre in Happy Garden. Members reviewed the past year’s activities, rejoicing in the Dhamma programmes which engaged the wider community in the Buddha’s teachings.

Read moreOn Saturday 1 March, Nalanda Kuala Lumpur branch members and volunteers joyfully conducted the monthly Pindacāra programme at O.U.G. and Happy Garden markets, led by Ven. Rahula and Ven. Buddhananda. It is heartwarming to see marketgoers and traders, both new and regular, enthusiastically offering cooked food, fruits and requisites to the monks on alms-round. Nalanda members and volunteers also shared information regarding the Pindacāra programme, whilst encouraging onlookers to perform this good deed.

The meeting commenced with a warm welcoming speech from Branch Chairperson Sis. Ong Ai Geok who thanked all members for a fruitful year together. Sis. Livin Leow also represented the Society’s Board of Management to deliver an opening speech to J.B. members.

Read moreNEO Centre Kuala Lumpur is honoured to host Venerable Jutipañño Mahāthero on Saturday, 8 March for a Dhamma teaching. A monk of Malaysian Chinese descent, Ven. Jutipañño was ordained at Wat Bhodhisampan, Chonburi in 1991. He returned to Malaysia from Thailand in 2000, and established Dhamma Light Meditation Centre at Api-Api, Johor, where he currently serves as its abbot. Ven. Jutipañño also previously served on the Monastic Advisory Panel of Theravāda Buddhist Council of Malaysia.
