Nalanda leaders join ground-breaking of Dharma Drum Mountain Malaysia’s new Centre

On Sunday 22 September, Nalanda leaders joined the Buddhist community in the ground-breaking ceremony of the new Dharma Drum Mountain Malaysia Centre at Kwasa Damansara.  The Abbot President of Dharma Drum Mountain, Venerable Guo Huei(方丈和尚果暉法师), shared that the new five-storey building is twice the size of the current Centre in Petaling Jaya, with a spacious meditation hall and accommodation facilities.

Free School students’ learning & service trip

On Saturday, 21 September, Nalanda Free School organised a learning trip for its students. The group of 30 students and teachers travelled to Kuala Kubu Bahru and joined volunteers there for service to learn and cultivate the values of teamwork and kindness.

Developing Peace within at Youth Camp

From 13 to 16 September, over 100 participants and volunteers gathered for the seventh edition of the Dhamma-living Camp for Young Adults at Wisdom Park.  Over this long holiday weekend, the youths immersed themselves in discovering how Peace begins with oneself through Dhamma talks, experiential learning, Dhamma chats and a forum.

Youth service explores mindfulness & awareness

On Sunday 1 September, Nalanda Youths conducted their weekly Sunday Service at the Youth Centre before the Dhamma-Living Camp for Young Adults.  Before the talk, Youth Mentor Sis. Nandini Tan lent her presence and shared that awareness is not just about being mindful in the present moment but also about understanding how we relate to our surroundings and the passage of time.  By cultivating this awareness, we can respond skillfully to situations and navigate life with purpose.

Thank you for a memorable DLCY

The Dhamma-Living Camp for Young Adults ended on a high note this Monday 16 September and we joyfully extend our appreciation to everyone who made this Camp a meaningful and fruitful experience.  Our thanks goes out to more than 100 people who came together for this Camp, comprising the Organising Committee, Dhamma speakers, facilitators, volunteers and participants; each and every one of you enabled the campers’ to learn and better understand how Peace starts from oneself.  Sadhu anumodana!

Selamat Hari Malaysia ke-61

Today marks the 61st anniversary of the formation of ‘Malaysia’ – a federation of 13 states spanning the Malay Peninsula, Sarawak, and Sabah.  To commemorate this occasion, over 80 youths at the Dhamma-living Camp raised the ‘Jalur Gemilang’ early this morning reflecting on how our part in nation-building is first through our own character-building by inculcating gratitude, compassion and peace within.
