Read moreTogether we learn Dhamma! On 13 January, Nalanda Youth Centre (NYC) conducted its first Service Sunday for National Service (NS) trainees in year 2013 at Nalanda Centre. A total of 108 trainees from Semenyih NS Camp spent their Sunday meaningfully by performing wholesome deeds and learning Buddhist values through fun and dynamic activities arranged by 11 youths from NYC.

On 31 December 2012, Nalanda members and devotees gathered at the Sri Serdang Nalanda Centre following an annual tradition to reflect on the passing of 2012, and to usher in the New Year. Dressed in elegant Nalanda sarong uniforms, devotees greeted each other joyfully with words of thanks, mutual appreciation, and encouragement.

Shortly after her ordination, Mahapajapati Gotami asked the Buddha for a short Dhamma instruction that would guide her in her solitary practice. The Buddha gave a discourse on the eight principles for recognizing what qualifies as Dhamma and Vinaya, and what does not. The eight principles have been widely cited ever since. In addition, there are passages on the principles of modesty, non-entanglement, dispassion, etc. in this compilation. Read more
On 1 December, there were many joyful and generous people waiting at Taman O.U.G. morning market to offer alms-food to the members of the Sangha. The monthly alms-round allows lay people to do good deeds with kind intentions and actions. A team of Nalandians with full devotion encouraged more people in the market to ‘do good and feel good’. They also took the opportunity to engage with the public and explain to them on the practice of Pindacāra.
