Meaningful Father’s Day at Nalanda

On Sunday 18 June, Nalanda Dhamma School students in Serdang and Family Dhamma School students in Kuala Lumpur celebrated the love and care from their fathers and father-figures.  The celebrations created beautiful memories and also reinforced the importance of fathers in nurturing and shaping their children’s lives.

Continuous Learning for Dhamma School Facilitators

Nalanda Dhamma School facilitators gathered on Sunday 4 June for a full-day session to discuss and plan for upcoming school programmes. We thank our Dhamma School facilitators for taking the time and making the effort to guide our children and teenagers towards more skilful and harmonious lives, in accordance to Dhamma.

Buddha Jayanti Exhibition is launched

The Buddha Jayanti Exhibition has just been launched today, 4 May, in the presence of members, devotees and volunteers.  It is one of the highlights of Buddha Day Observance and carries the theme “Living a Meaningful Life”.  Exhibits on display showcase the richness and beauty of Buddha's teachings, and the inspiring qualities of the Buddha and his disciples who have led meaningful lives.

Dhamma School family outing in Putrajaya

On Sunday 26 March, more than 130 Nalanda Dhamma School facilitators, parents and students had a joyful outing at Taman Putra Perdana, Putrajaya.  In the absence of distractions, families were able to spend quality time supporting each other and strengthen their bonding with each other as well as with their peers.

Families learn together at Dhamma School

Since Sunday 19 March, over 70 parents and children have been learning together at Family Dhamma School, held at NEO KL in Happy Garden.  This weekly programme is newly launched in conjunction with Nalanda's 20th Anniversary, to provide a learning platform for both parents and children to grow spiritually and achieve domestic bliss.

Nalanda Family Dhamma School starts this Sunday

This Sunday 19 March, we joyfully welcome participants of the inaugural Nalanda Family Dhamma School to NEO Centre in Happy Garden for their first school session at 9am.  This learning platform for both parents and children to grow spiritually and achieve domestic bliss, is launched in conjunction with the year-long commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of Nalanda Buddhist Society.

Junior Dhamma School students cultivate respect and gratitude

On 3 to 5 March, 48 students and facilitators from Nalanda Junior Dhamma School spent the school holidays at Nalanda Centre to learn Dhamma and strengthen their bonds with spiritual friends.  Over the three-day programme, the students developed a better understanding of the theme “Three Jewels – My Faith and Refuge”.

Teenagers discover true blessings in life

On 18 to 20 February, 45 Nalanda Dhamma School students started their school holidays meaningfully with a stay-in programme in Wisdom Park.  Over the 3 days, students explored the theme of “Blessings in Life” to better understanding the true blessings as taught by the Buddha.

Gratitude & love at ‘Tea-Offering Ceremony’

On Sunday 12 February, devotees, volunteers and Dhamma School students gathered at Nalanda Centre to join the “Tea-offering Ceremony” and Gratitude Day, the first held since the pandemic.  This annual tradition is hosted by Nalanda Dhamma School and is an opportunity for us to express our appreciation to our parents, teachers and elders for their support and care.

Best wishes to SPM candidates

Tomorrow, on Monday 20 January, over 400,000 students will start their SPM (‘O’–Level) exams, a major milestone public examination in Malaysia for secondary school students.  Nalanda wishes our Dhamma School and Free School students who are sitting for the exams as well as other candidates throughout the country – all the best!
