From 18 to 30 March, Nalanda was privileged to host Venerable Ajahn Visālo, an Indonesian monk who ordained under Luang Por Liem, Abbot of Wat Nong Pah Pong, at Nalanda Centre. This is Ajahn’s third visit to Nalanda and the community was grateful for the opportunity to associate with a well-practiced teacher to learn the Dhamma and make offerings.
Throughout his stay at Nalanda, Ajahn has graciously spent time to provide meditation guidance and teachings, chats with our leaders, educators, dhamma school facilitators, Dhamma Chat with youths and meeting with devotees to give guidance and advice in different aspects of life. This also gave devotees opportunities to offer food to him during breakfast and lunch dana sessions.
In his talks and chats, he gave guidance to approach meditation and cultivate a mind of ease through formal sitting and daily lives. He reminded us to be a silent witness to emotions, thoughts and feelings during our meditation and learn to sit with the experience. This gave us clarity to deepen our practice with the right mindset and approach.
We extend our deep appreciation to Ajahn Visālo for the opportunities to learn and reflect on Dhamma with his guidance, and hope that Ajahn will come to visit us again when he is in Malaysia. We wish Ajahn good health and fulfilment in his spiritual endeavours. Sadhu.
