A blessed Sunday learning with Ven. Ajahn Pavaro

On Sunday 23 February, the community gathered together for Samaggi Sunday Service to delve into Dhamma teachings with Ven. Ajahn Pavaro. Venerable initially trained at Sitavana Forest Monastery and later spent significant years in Thailand at Anandagiri Monastery with Ajahn Achalo. He currently resides at Tisarana Monastery in Ontario, Canada.

Joyful beginning for Family Dhamma School JB

On 22 February, Nalanda Johor Bahru Branch warmly welcomed over 40 returning students and new families to the first 2025 class of Family Dhamma School. The session began with a meaningful offering and communal chanting. To ‘break-the-ice’ everyone joined activities which fostered connections, familiarity and a sense of community.

Experiencing joy through kindful deeds

Last Saturday, 15 February, the local community at Seri Kembangan gathered in a festive mood at the monthly Pindacāra (monks on alms-round) programme. This round, volunteers were joined by Nalanda Dhamma School students, as a reward for their teamwork during the School’s Orientation Camp.

Meaningful beginning for new parents

On Sunday, 16 February, new parents of Nalanda Dhamma School students attended the first session of the Parents Induction Programme (PIP) at Nalanda Centre, Sri Serdang. Sis. See Hui Shien, Director of Nalanda Dhamma School, welcomed them warmly and introduced the Buddhist spiritual path, highlighting how education and cultivation can bring about personal and family transformation.

From 14 to 16 February, over 80 students and facilitators of Nalanda Dhamma School came together for an enriching stay-in programme at Nalanda Centre. The programme served as a warm introduction for students, helping them understand the purpose of Dhamma School while fostering the spirit of kalyāṇamittatā (spiritual friendship).
