Special prayers at Kuala Lumpur International Airport

On Sunday 9 March, a team of Nalandians led by Nalanda’s Deputy President Bro. Lee Teck Beng joined other religious groups to perform special prayers for the casualties of MH370 and their families at Kuala Lumpur International Airport’s Main Terminal Building.  Let us continue to extend our compassionate thoughts to the passengers of MH370, their families, and loved ones. Special Prayers in Serdang and JB for Victims of MH370

Nalandians gathered on 8-10 March for pūja and chanting to share merits with the casualties of flight MH370 that went missing, and which presumably crashed into sea.  The flight was a routine one from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board.  At this juncture, the circumstances surrounding the tragedy remain unclear.

Chinese-Language Facebook page launched today

Dear friends, We have taken note of many requests in the past weeks to have a Facebook fanpage in Chinese Language so as to communicate more effectively with the Mandarin-speaking community.  We are happy to report that a team of volunteers have agreed to help in establishing and maintaining the Chinese-Language page.  The fanpage was launched just a few hours ago, today!

Group Visits by Sangha Members

On Saturday 1 March, Nalandians welcomed Āyasmā U Ottamasara together with twenty monastic and lay devotees to Nalanda Centre.  Āyasmā U Ottamasara, the abbot of Thabarwa Meditation Centre in Yangon, Myanmar, was impressed with the aesthetic design and peaceful ambience of Nalanda Centre.  He was also happy with Nalanda’s impactful educational programmes.

Berjaya Founder’s Day at Times Square KL

On Saturday 22 February, Nalanda is honoured with an invitation to participate in the 4th Berjaya Founder’s Day celebration at Berjaya Times Square, Kuala Lumpur.  Berjaya Founder’s Day is an annual celebration of philanthropy, volunteerism and community service.  It is a special celebration in conjunction with the 62nd birthday of Berjaya Group’s founder, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Vincent Tan Chee Yioun.

Delightful Pindacāra at O.U.G. and Happy Garden

On Saturday 1 March, devotees and volunteers participated joyfully in our monthly Pindacāra (monks going on alms-round) at Taman O.U.G. and Happy Garden morning markets.  At 7.30am, Nalandians gathered for the morning chanting at NEO Centre Happy Garden to calm their minds and reaffirm wholesome aspirations before embarking on the alms-round with the venerable bhikkhus.
