Inspiring learning in Panyaprateep and Thawsi Schools

On 15 and 16 September, Nalanda Dhamma School facilitators visited two remarkable Buddhist schools in Thailand – Panyaprateep School in Pak Chong and Thawsi School in Bangkok – as part of their Learning Trip. These visits provided a wonderful opportunity to exchange experiences, gain fresh insights into Buddhist education and strengthen ties with fellow Dhamma educators.

Facilitators’ journey of reflection and growth in Thailand

From 12 to 16 September, 20 Nalanda Dhamma School facilitators travelled to Thailand for a meaningful study tour in conjunction with the school’s 20th anniversary. Led by Nalanda Buddhist Society President, Sis. Buddhinī Tan, and Director of Nalanda Dhamma School, Sis. See Hui Shien, the trip centred on learning from revered monastic teachers.

Harmonious and joyful stay-in for families

From 5 to 7 September, 17 families from Family Dhamma School, Kuala Lumpur, gathered at Wisdom Park for a stay-in programme themed “Brahmavihāra – The Heart of Harmonious Living.”  Over the three days, parents and children engaged in Dhamma sharing, service, and family activities that nurtured learning, togetherness, and appreciation of the four Brahmavihāras – loving-kindness, compassion, appreciative joy, and equanimity.

Meaningful exchange with Dhamma educators

On Sunday 3 August, Nalanda Dhamma School (NDS) warmly welcomed a group of Dhamma School teachers from Kinrara Metta Buddhist Society’s Dhamma Dipa Circle (Dhamma learning programme for children) for an enriching exchange session.  NDS facilitators shared about the structure, values, and learning approach of the School, as well as how they cultivate holistic development in students.  The friendly and open atmosphere allowed for meaningful dialogue and mutual learning.

In the weeks leading up to the much-anticipated Family Fun Fair this year, Nalanda Dhamma School is buzzing with excitement and enthusiasm. The spirit of teamwork and joyful service fills the air as everyone rallies together to support this meaningful community event.  Both the Junior and Teenage School students are actively involved in different ways, contributing their time, creativity, and energy with much dedication and joy.

Dhamma School facilitator briefs parents on students’ progress

On Sunday 27 July, Nalanda Dhamma School hosted a Parent-Facilitator Meeting for the Junior and Teenage Dhamma School parents.  School Coordinators Sis. Lau Wei Nee and Sis. Poh Chin Hui commenced the meeting with an overview of the learning programmes and school trips held, class profile and attendance records.

Walking the path of blessings as a family

On Saturday 19 July, Nalanda Johor Bahru held its Family Dhamma School 17th session. The session began meaningfully with group meditation, offerings, and Pāli chanting, setting a serene and focussed tone for the day ahead. This session featured two parallel Dhamma sharings.

Families experience the joy of Dhamma at stay-in programme

From 27 to 29 June, over 80 participants and volunteers from Nalanda Dhamma Schools in Serdang, Kuala Lumpur, and Johor Bahru came together at Wisdom Park for a Family Stay-in Programme. Themed “Joy of Dhamma”, this meaningful gathering allowed families from different regions to connect through shared learning, reflection, and wholesome fun in a peaceful setting.
