Smiling faces after a fruitful training
On Tuesday 15 October, Nalanda Dharma School organised a training programme for facilitators to learn about healthy living and to gain a better understanding of educational philosophy and theories. A new batch of graduates join the ranks of ‘Aspiring Dhamma Speakers’ after their graduation today from the 4th “Dhamma Speakers’ Training Programme” (DSTP), organised by the Buddhist Gem Fellowship (BGF), and coordinated by Dr. Phang Cheng Kar. On Saturday, 9 March, a Volunteer Induction Programme was organised to introduce new volunteers to Nalanda’s culture and high service quality. During the 4-hour session, Sis. Buddhini, Sis. Santi and Sis. Faith took turns to present the volunteer guidelines and facilitate group discussions. It was a fruitful workshop and by the end of it, everyone was feeling like a V.I.P.! Read more
On 5 & 6 January 2013, Nalanda Institute Malaysia (NIM) conducted a two-day teacher’s training programme at Uttama Bodhi Vihara in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya. The 35 existing and aspiring Dhamma School teachers who participated in the weekend programme gained much knowledge and inspiration to further the noble cause of Buddhist education.
Volunteer librarians gathered on 31 March for a training session on the Senayan Library Management System which features the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), an online database with thumbnail document image support, Simple Search and Advanced Search modes, adopted by Pustaka Nalanda.
