Nalanda Founder Bro. Tan undertook a 5-day tour to Singapore earlier this month and gave several teachings to various groups, including to members of Buddhist Fellowship, Firefly Mission, undergraduate fellowship, and at the Buddha Dhamma Mandala Society (BDMS). Bro. Tan also visited Ven. H Gunaratana and Ven. B Dhammaratana at the Buddhist Library, as well as Ven. S Dhammika at BDMS. It was a fruitful trip as he was fully engaged with many Dhamma activities.

On Sunday 8 December, Ayya Susīla gave two uplifting talks to Nalandians. The first talk was at Nalanda Centre, “From Darkness to Light“, and the second one in Mandarin was at NEO Centre Happy Garden, “如何面对生活中的烦恼”. Devotees were delighted with the simple and easy-going way of Ayya’s Dhamma teaching. Nalanda’s Deputy President Bro. Lee Teck Beng and Nalanda KL Branch Deputy Chairman Bro. Rudy Gan, together with many other officers, were at Nalanda to receive Ayya Susīla. Sadhu!

The entourage left NEO Centre in JB on 22 November and stopped over for lunch at our ‘spiritual home’ – Nalanda Centre Sri Serdang. The group of 30 participants also visited the Buddhist Maha Vihara in Kuala Lumpur for a familiarization tour, thereafter left for Sungai Petani in Kedah. Read more
On Wednesday 4 December, Nalandians and devotees had the opportunity to offer lunch dāna to Venerables Ajahn Cattamālo and Ajahn Cagino at Nalanda House. Both Ajahns trained under the Thai forest monk tradition of Ajahn Chah.

Gunaratana at Nalanda Centre Sri Serdang for 8 days, from 22 – 29 November, and also at NEO Centre Johor Bahru for a day on 21 November. Popularly known as ‘Bhante G’, Ven. Gunaratana is a renowned Buddhist meditation teacher and author of several influential works, such as the best-selling ‘Mindfulness in Plain English’. Read more
