On the last day of 2015, Nalanda Dhamma School facilitators, students and their parents gathered at Nalanda Centre for the annual “Appreciation & Honours Day”. This was one of the most important events in School calendar as it was a day for everyone to reflect and rejoice in their effort and commitment to learning throughout the year.

Read moreTwenty-four Nalanda Dhamma School students at NEO Centre Johor Bahru sat for their year-end examination on Sunday 15 November. The teenagers, aged between 13 to 17 years, had been attending Dhamma classes throughout the year. It was wonderful to see the students so well-behaved and eager to sit for the exam. They were tested on their basic understanding of Buddhism. Dhamma School Director Sis. Sunanda was at NEO Centre to help oversee the smooth running of the examination.

Sunanda Ong conducted a Dhamma workshop for members of Nottingham University Buddhist Society, Semenyih, in conjunction with its 6th anniversary. Sis. Sunanda spoke about positive transformation, highlighting the fact that true transformation can only come about when education is accompanied by cultivation. She impressed upon the students the importance of putting their Dhamma knowledge into practice if they wanted to see tangible results in their lives.

The annual retreat was fun yet educational, and a time to review the School’s progress as well as chart its course for next year. Facilitators from Kelantan, who were members of the Dhammarakkhitta group, also joined their Nalanda counterparts at the retreat.
