Mettā Bhāvanā Reunion Day

On 19 May, Nalanda Youth Centre organised a one-day ‘Mettā Bhāvanā’ programme for young adults.  We would like to invite all participants for a special ‘Reunion Day’ this Saturday, 30 June, where we recollect what we learned about the helpful practice of ‘Mettā’.  Activities on that day include teachings by Bro.Tan, meditation sessions, and Dhamma discussion, followed by fellowship dinner.

Meditation session with Dhamma talk

Join us this Wednesday for an evening of peaceful group meditation, followed by a Dhamma talk by Venerable Dr. S. Pemaratana.  He is the Abbot of Pittsburgh Buddhist Centre.  He offers public workshops on meditation and provides spiritual counselling to help people deal with challenges in life.

Annual Gimhāna Retreat begins

For seven weeks after the Buddha’s Enlightenment on Wesak full-moon in May, He contemplated on the Dhamma with His perfectly clear faculty of comprehension.  Then, He travelled for seven days from Uruvela to Sarnath, where He preached the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta on Asalha Day, the full-moon in July.
