‘Peace Walk’ in serenity and harmony

On the evening of Saturday 17 May, members and devotees of Nalanda Kuala Lumpur Branch gathered in good spirits and camaraderie for a ‘Peace Walk’ around Happy Garden to commemorate Buddha Day.  The walk was led by Ven. Siriwimala and Ven. Ratanasiri from Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple, Sentul.   Prior to this, light refreshments were served to the local community, with devotees generously offering food.

Reflecting on a meaningful life with Ven. Paññasami

On Thursday 15 May, Nalanda members and devotees gathered for the Mandarin Dhamma talk by Ven. Paññasami at Nalanda Education & Outreach Centre in Happy Garden. The session which started with guided meditation, and a peaceful sitting to calm the mind before reflecting on the Dhamma.

Gimhāna Retreat B.E. 2569

For seven weeks after the Buddha’s Enlightenment on Wesak full-moon in May, He contemplated on the Dhamma with His perfectly clear faculty of comprehension.  Then, He travelled for seven days from Uruvela to Sarnath, where He preached the ‘Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta’ on Asalha Day, the full-moon in July.

Peace Walk and Dhamma talk by Ach. S. Vijaya in Happy Garden

Come and join the Buddha Day ‘Peace Walk’ this Saturday 17 May, at Nalanda Education and Outreach Centre K.L. in Happy Garden. The programme features a Dhamma talk by Achariya S. Vijaya at 6.30pm, followed by the serene ‘Peace Walk’ around the housing community at 7.30pm.

‘Happy Young Adults’ explores adapting to change

On Tuesday 8 April, the Happy Young Adults participants came together at NEO Centre KL in Happy Garden to learn with Sis. See Hui Shien on the topic of ‘Adapting to change and being agile’.  The first step is to adjust our attitude to know and accept that impermanence and change is a part of life change.  And when we face the eight worldly winds of gain & loss, fame & ill fame, praise & blame, pleasure & pain, we should hone ourselves to be unattached to changing circumstances and maintain equanimity to be emotionally stable.

Pindacāra led by Ven. Sayadaw Saṅgharakkhita

On Saturday 5 April, Ven. Sayadaw Saṅgharakkhita led the monthly Pindacāra at the morning markets in O.U.G. and Happy Garden. Sayadaw carried with him his 'Patta Kya' (monastic fan) for practicality, detachment and mindfulness and to symbolise the sacred commitment & adherence to the Vinaya.
