The long-awaited Buddhist Youth Leaders’ Study Tour to Bujang Valley from 14 – 16 September was joyfully accomplished! We arrived at Nalanda Centre at 1.30am this morning (17 September) feeling inspired and greatly satisfied. Nalanda Youth Centre would like to thank Bro. Tan for expertly guiding all of us on this amazing journey of discovery! We would also like to thank the Nalanda Central Management in Sri Serdang, and our Sungai Petani branch Chairman Bro. Khaw Seng Giap for your great support and contributions.
90 youths and devotees had an enlightening tour to Bujang Valley on 15 September 2013, under the guidance of Bro. H S Tan. Our one-day trip covered several archaeologically important sites such as Sungai Batu, Merbok, and Semeling, located in Kuala Muda district of Kedah.
Namo Buddhaya! This was the standard greeting when we met with the local Buddhists in Indonesia, adults and children alike. Warmly welcomed and hosted by Buddhist devotees in Jakarta, Maribaya and Karawang, the study visit to Indonesia was a meaningful and fulfilling experience.
2011-2012 marks the auspicious 2,600th Anniversary of Buddhism. Nalanda is commemorating this pivotal milestone with special study tours to Borobudur in July, and to Sri Lanka in September; followed by a pilgrimage to India and Nepal in December 2012. All these tours will be led by our Founder Bro. H S Tan.
