In the past weeks since 16 July, participants of the first Horticulture and Landscape course (HCL 001) have joyfully gathered every Saturday at Wisdom Park to learn basic horticulture skills. The classes are conducted by Dr. Chen Xing Wei Ph.D. (Horticulture), lead of the Landscaping Team at Wisdom Park.
Read moreFrom 9 – 11 July, 40 Nalanda leaders from Serdang and branches gathered at Wisdom Park for a 3-day Leaders’ Retreat to discuss pertinent issues & challenges in carrying out the Society’s mission. Leaders also explored ways to enhance leadership skills such as resolving conflict in interactive workshops.
Read moreOn 18 – 19 June, 45 Nalanda youths and Dhamma School students gathered for learning and service at Wisdom Park. Over the two days, they developed strong bonds of friendship and learnt the importance of the community in ensuring continuous learning and growth as a young adult. The Dhamma sharings, activities and service sessions allowed the participants who ranged from ages 14 to 30 to understand the value of spiritual friendship. Participants felt great joy in learning and serving together as a Buddhist community that is rooted in wholesome values.

This important gathering carries the theme ‘Heart of a Buddhist Leader’ and aims to facilitate discussions on pertinent issues in carrying out the Society’s educational mission, as well as to further enhance leadership skills.
Read moreOn Monday 16 May, Wisdom Park welcomed a group of 11 Sangha members and scholars who came to learn more about the Buddhist educational efforts in Malaysia. They were amongst the top scholars throughout Sri Lanka in Pāli, Sanskrit and Sinhalese languages, having excelled in national Buddhist examinations there. They were invited to Malaysia on a study tour courtesy of Venerable Sri Saranankara Nayaka Thero, Nalanda’s Spiritual Adviser.
Read moreFrom 30 April to 3 May, more than 130 Nalanda members and core volunteers from Serdang headquarters and all branches gathered at Wisdom Park in Kuala Kubu Bahru to participate in the 8th National Nalanda Members’ Convention. It was a joyous reunion of Nalandians as many have not met in the two-year hiatus due to Covid-19 restrictions.
