On Sunday 14 September, devotees gathered in strength at Nalanda Centre for our annual ‘Community Gardening Day’. Every year close to ‘Malaysia Day’, Nalandians and the surrounding community would work together to clean and green the Sri Serdang neighbourhood. This is one of our efforts to commemorate the country’s founding day – by taking care of cleanliness in our vicinity, and to plant suitable local trees and shrubs to create a better environment for everyone.

The joyous occasion saw Achariya Vijaya Samarawickrama, who helmed Nalanda Institute for the past 4 years, hand over the baton to the new Director, Achariya Tan Siang Chye. The sentiment at the Directorship’s handing-over ceremony was both joyous and appreciative.

Their immoral act caused the untimely deaths of nearly 3,000 innocent victims, and sent shock waves throughout the world.
Read moreToday, we reached the 120th day milestone since the Nalanda Centre Building Expansion Project began. In another 60 days, the construction and renovation work would be wholly completed. We are happy and thankful that the project is on schedule and progressing well, and furthermore with a perfect safety record! The building construction is now concentrated at Level 4. With the floor slab completed, the workers are busy working on the roof structure presently.
